Every device I’ve seen for making coffee does one thing: drip hot water over coffee grounds. They do it more or less elaborately and their cost is wildly variable. What they do, regardless, is ultimately the same thing.
I’ve got an old 22 cup percolator that’s out at the ranch house, it’s been there as long as I can remember. When my Vet’s come out for the annual deer hunt that’s all we use. Most of them are so young they’ve never even seen one.
