Yeah—this isn’t the country I grew up in and learned to love.
This is a socialist, intentionally sinful nation now that is under judgement from God.

I won’t celebrate that.

I’m not celebrating the 4th, either, although for different reasons than the moonbat who wrote that piece. After what happened on 6/26 (SCOTUS forcing sodomite “marriage” on the Fruited Plain), I consider my American citizenship little more than a box I check off on a form. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, I didn’t leave my country, my country left me. If things ever improve (unlikely), maybe I’ll get my patriotic mojo back. But for now, fuhgeddaboutit.

Independence Day weekend will be muted for me as well. For the first time since I can remember, the flag pole at my front door sits empty. There will be no fireworks, no town parade, none of the usual "4th of July" festivities.

Instead, my wife and I will be hanging out on our back deck grilling foods for friends and neighbors. Just another summer weekend around here.

I don't hate my country. But it's no longer the country I used to know. I served in the Marines and I still hold out hope that we will eventually find our way again. But things may still get worse before they get better.
