So far five miniature (not toy) poodles have been graced my livf over the years. One at a time, the one now is well and nearly 10 years of age. It seems the life space is usually about 16 or so years, baring accidents. Makes me hope for more years for their time.. I do not want to have another one and not live long enough for it to have a great life, too. The senior to senior dog/cat program is a good idea. It is hard to lose a loved one. Everytime!

Then Laugh
Build for yourself a strong box,
Fashion each part with care;
When it's strong as your hand can make it,
Put all your troubles there;
Hide there all thought of your failures,
And each bitter cup that you quaff;
Lock all your heartaches within it,
Then sit on the lid and laugh.
Tell no one else its contents,
Never its secrets share;
When you've dropped in your care and worry
Keep them forever there;
Hide them from sight so completely
That the world will never dream half;
Fasten the strong box securely-
Then sit on the lid and laugh.
