In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
obdurate, adj.
1. unmoved by persuasion, pity, or tender feelings; stubborn; unyielding.
2. stubbornly resistant to moral influence; persistently impenitent: an obdurate sinner
Etymology: 1400-1450 1400-50; late Middle English obdurat < Latin obdūrātus (past participle of obdūrāre to harden), equivalent to ob- ob- + dūr (us) hard + -ātus -ate1
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

And, most importantly, marriage in a church is not a public utility. It is for members. Open, defiant homosexuals can be excommunicated, and hence barred from membership and the privileges of membership.
Irony of ironies, it may take this decision and ensuing litigation to force the Church to enact effective discipline against unrepentant homosexuals.
The church will lose it’s tax exempt status. That’s their goal.
They will be losing a lot of “Music Directors”...
I don’t know him but I do know the judge.
