Happy Fourth of July Week all!

We have a good lineup which probably ends with a dud...Our Miss Brooks, Jack Benny, Counterspy...then Ed’s Options which I’ll probably tune out of.

Anybody taking time off this week?

8:00 Gunsmoke. September 2, 1956. CBS net. "Old Pal." Sponsored by: L & M, Chesterfield. A month after Jim Rankin was murdered and the Wells Fargo money stolen, Jim's old girlfriend Lily is leaving town. She's paid for her ticket with two of the banknotes stolen during the robbery. A short time later, Lily disappears! The system cue has been deleted. Mr. Conklin calls a school session on Saturday and may get hanged in effigy! The script was reused on the program of January 29, 1956 (see cat. #104974). Eve Arden, Jeff Chandler, Gale Gordon, Richard Crenna, Jane Morgan, Gloria McMillan, William Johnstone, Leonard Smith, Verne Smith (announcer), Bob Lemond (announcer), Wilbur Hatch (music). 29:47. 9:00 Philco Radio Time. March 3, 1948. ABC net. Sponsored by: Philco. The first tune is, "The Big Brass Band From Brazil." Guest Jack Benny takes Gladys Zybisko (Sara Berner) to guest Tom Breneman's nightclub. Jack loses a nickle in a juke box. Woe! One of the sound effects men misses a cue and cracks everyone up. Jack plays "Humoresque," accompanied by Bing playing the cymbal. A very enjoyable show. The system cue is added live.
