Neither has the concept of capitalism. If people won’t do a job for a wage, the business either raises the wage to market value or hires an illegal slave.
The presence of illegals means capitalism cannot EVER function as designed.
Well wages going up are not going to make lazy disinterested hipsters and ghetto bangers and so on interested in physical labor. It just isnt.
Cut off the welfare. They can sink or swim on their own.
You are correct. The national average wage for a roofer is about 15 an hour now. And trying to get young white boys to work is not so easy.
Amnesty, thy name is Trump.
YES YES YES...cut off the welfare....I’ve posted that a thousand times as a BIG BIG PART of the jobs/illegal immigration issue.
YES YES YES. That’s my point. Perhaps you didn’t see that...
true, and the presence of overly generous welfare benefits MEANS THE SAME THING.
When was that?
that’s a nice thought. But 1995 called, and said get real.
Hell, marriage changed in a day. Dont tell me the entire employment situation hasnt changed since 1980. My intelligence was insulted by the sheer idiocy of the idea."
Why are you so intent on belittling others on this forum?
We all have life experiences that form our opinions and we come to FR share and debate. I answered all your questions honestly based on what I have seen in my own life.
Not sure where I said the employment situation hasn't changed since 1980-the point I was making is that it DID change. I picked that time period because thats about when we started to notice large numbers of illegals begin to take over certain service industry and construction jobs.
My point was the idea some have that only illegals will do these jobs contributes to the problem of allowing illegals to flood our border. Not everyone is a hipster on EBT. Some of us still work hard in construction, hotel services, and landscaping.
I am so sorry your "intelligence was insulted" by engaging in debate with a fellow freeper. Feel free to refrain from engaging me in the future.
Must be an area thing because until we got invaded, AZ was paying less than that and had young guys of all colors lined up. After the invasion, wages dropped. People still lined up.
In AZ. In the summer.
I’ll give your boy Trump credit here for at least one thing....which is that we have two entirely different illegal populations. Those that are here to work, and those that are here to suck on the welfare teat.
Say what you will about either, but it’s simply absurd not to recognize that they are different, and that one is far more disastrous than the other.
go back and read your initial post - and you’ll see that I correctly extrapolated your point about 1980. To bring it up the way you dean means something...and now you want to say, never mind, that’s not what I meant. Well, maybe - but it’s what you SAID initially, in context.
No it doesn’t. Welfare and illegals are very different subjects and have very different outcomes. It’s easier to get rid of one than the other depending on which party sits at the controls.
Some states have curbed welfare greatly but can’t overcome the courts on illegals.
That is the answer. Welfare also attracts all these illegals. They have had books printed on our welfare bennies and how to get them in Asian countries for years. Mexico is up to speed also.
Of course. It was easy to do that...in the 80s. Starting in the mod to late 90s, depending on where you are, it became impossible. To use that as an example for today is meaningless.
I bet you can find contractors in business today, who were also in business in the 80s, and I bet their business and employee model is 180 degrees different.
If we could rewind to the 80s, a lot of things would be better.
One can pick up day labor but other then that only Hispanics work in Nashville. There are exceptions. We are loaded with Mexicans now.
Its the best we are going to get. NONE of the GOP presidential candidates is advocating mass deportation. Trump and Cruz have the two best ideas. Of those two I think Trump really will secure the border with a wall or fence just to say he did it if nothing else.
Certainly not where the supreme court judges can easily lay their hands on it.
Your statement is contradictory. You can't set a price for labor and then search for workers. You have it set the price and the workers come to you. If 15/hr is not attracting any then you try 16/hr and so on. If yo set at 20/hr the labor will walk off the current job and come to you. I've seen it happen.
