Justice Kennedy either does not believe in God, or is unaware of the fact that God burned two cities to death by fire as a consequence of Homosexuality. I regard these two events as the measure of his level of disapproval on the subject.
In his ruling Justice Kennedy has effectively thrown down the gauntlet and challenged God to do something about it. I'm thinking that if he lives long enough to see it, he isn't going to like God's response.
Whether Kennedy realizes it or not, The Judeo-Christian principles are responsible for Western Civilization. They created the conditions which allowed the West to develop and grow into the prosperity it now has today.
Simple rules like "Thou shalt not Steal", and "Thou Shalt not commit Adultery"* are responsible for creating a functional society and giving us the prosperity we have today, but the whole thing isn't a buffet menu, it is a consolidated set of principles, and to erode one of them undermines the whole system and encourages unbelief.
If unbelief spreads, the other societal rules will fall as well. If there is no consequence to breaking one of the rules, then people will begin to think that there will be no consequences to breaking the others, and eventually the entire system will descend into a struggle of animalistic urges. As has been said before, Life will become "Nasty, Brutish, and Short."
To summarize, just from the obvious social dynamics, the consequences of defying God, will be axiomatic and unavoidably bad.

*(Not really an accurate translation, "Adultery" is the closest English word, but it really means any sort of sex outside of marriage, including homosexual sex.)
They were referred to as the cities of the plain. They had some satellite imagery that were able to pick up all five ruins.
Its the only reason I even remembered it.
God punishes Nations.
Walter Cronkite was an anti-American globalist of a similar bent.

I believe in God based on logic and personal experience. I don’t believe in revealed religion. I believe we have an innate ability to communicate with God in some way we can’t understand, and we really can’t possibly understand God. So when we do, people put it into the context of their own culture and knowledge of the world and existing mythology. IMHO that’s where revealed religion comes from.
In short, God is God, religion is what people say about God. You may argue that religion is what God says about God, but at most only one can be. If yours is right, the rest must be made up by men.
I don’t attack people who choose to believe in a particular revealed religion, but if someone says you can’t believe in God without believing in their particular brand of revealed religion I have to respond.
Tell it to Justice Scalia...
“I write separately to call attention to this Courts threat to American democracy,” Scalia wrote in the opening paragraph of his dissent.

You’re confusing the principle of democracy, that governments rule by the consent of the governed, with a pure direct democracy like ancient Athens.
See #64 and 65.
If anyone’s beliefs were being attacked (inadvertently) it’s mine. I’m being told I can’t believe in God because I don’t believe the story of Sodom is factual. Hence my response. That’s not an attack, and has nothing to do with Kennedy.
Nobody told you that. Unless you yourself are Anthony Kennedy?
Kennedy is a queer and I’m sure his wife found that out years ago.
That was quick. It’s the same logic, a false choice based on a belief not a fact. If it applies to Kennedy it has to apply to everyone. If you think anything I said is an attack you are being far too sensitive.
Attackers (liberal ones) usually do accuse their targets of “being far too sensitive” if they react to any degree.
Of course, I don’t know what god you purport to believe in. But in Kennedy’s case, not believing in the destruction of Sodom, as a Catholic, makes him a heretic. Are you speaking for yourself or for Kennedy?
One does not have to work hard at all to get to God’s truth. It is there is plain wording for all to see and understand.
You must fancy yourself much wiser than God to be able to discern which parts of His word you think are true and which have hidden truth. You are so smart!!
Consider all the abstract, universal and unchanging metaphysical concepts that you yourself presuppose that are based on faith, not events (or 'facts') or anything else in your finite observation or experience. For example, you believe that there is sense, and it's opposite, nonsense. You have faith that there exists things such as 'evidence", and "meaning", etc., all of which presuppose things such as truth, and universal, unchanging laws of logic, which existed before you were here and will exist after you are gone.
What is your actual evidence for these beliefs?
It probably was not your intent but you have demonstrated that faith is itself the evidence of things unseen, so it doesn't make much sense for you to try to make it diametrically opposed to evidence.
Cordially,
bump
Like the far-left what they believe changes by the day and the whim of their leash-holders. Nothing the left believes is true.
Evidence is called for, but nobody really lives or thinks according to what some called “evidence”.
No argument here. I'll leave that to the Catholics. As I said, my post had nothing to do with Kennedy, only with the opening premise. I'm trying to clarify, not score debate points.
Have a good evening.
Justice Kennedy and other Justices should take heed of GOD’s curse upon generations:
The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.
Of all people, he should know that he has been entrusted with the great responsibility to judge and defend our Constitution strictly as written, to obey the laws of GOD upon which it is based, and not to legislate new laws based upon his beliefs. I think beyond a doubt, as a judge, he has failed all his responsibilities to GOD and us.
BY condoning the sin and abomination of same-sex marriage, he has put himself and his personal beliefs ahead of GOD. As a man I will only judge the sin, not condemn the sinner. But GOD will judge his eternal salvation. And we are told GOD is a jealous GOD and will not be mocked. His latest decision has clearly mocked GOD who has declared to his people:
‘If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them’.
‘In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error’.
Of course if there is no GOD, then Justice Kennedy has nothing to fear except his fellow man. We shall know if Justice Kennedy’s decision was a wise one in the coming days. Obviously he and the gay and lesbian community are not concerned. The seem to revel in their victory for ‘human rights’.
