I was born in Virginia, grew up in the beltway milieu. I know your type; very shallow, no deep thinking, no real ability to lead other than by observance of rank; no ability to inspire.
I know it’s very critical but it’s true.
When you can walk for 40 days in the desert alone and resist the devil’s temptations, then you’re known to history.
When you can lead a ragtag army to victory over a world superpower, then you’re known to history.
The truth is you’re not even a footnote to history.
These things are said to you that you might learn to curb your false self-promotion over members of this site who are wiser. Your posted thread subject is not new, not informative, not educational, not insightful, of no use to the forum except to remind people that ignorance is still on parade although members here need no such reminders.
There are many fine humble members in this forum that are without big degrees or government jobs, but are without conceit and they are deeply respected because they are wise and their words have meaning.
Listen, learn and show respect or go away.
The fun thing about the internet is that we can be whoever we want. Well some can. I use my real name and anyone can search me.
If I wanted to pull out the johnson for a measuring contest with this guy, it wouldn’t be hard to do. Then again, I only bring my history up when required to make a point. And 9 times out of ten, that’s when someone like this wants to John Holmes it.
As you say, FR has a lot of people like that. Some far greater than I, some without the same specific accomplishments. None of it matters in the end. Words mean things. That’s what ultimately matters.
