Again, you are setting up a strawman

Not at all. There are NO parts of NY that I would live in again. I value the relative freedom of FL and GA far more the availability and variety of Manhattan restaurants or the scenic beauty of the Hudson valley. You're looking at different criteria than I am. I look at regulations, taxes and laws. You're looking at the appearance. To me appearance is way down the list.

But your own handle defines GA as "occupied". That doesn't sound like a vote of confidence on your part with regard to your area.

Now I've spent several years in GA and AL and that area has much going for it. I miss the Waffle Houses, the polite people and getting to spend 9 months a year out of doors without a winter coat (though the heat and humidity is brutal during the summer months.)

Yes, the taxes are lower there but then again, so are incomes, so everything's relative. I pay way more taxes up here but even with taxes taken out, I clear double what I would take home down there for the same type of work.

That said, Atlanta is a world class city so if people from Georgia want city life, they have that option too. But like NYC, there are some areas of Atlanta you need to steer clear of.

“I look at regulations, taxes and laws. You’re looking at the appearance. To me appearance is way down the list.”

Why are you inflicting your opinion on people who don’t care about it. You sound like a liberal who likes to lecture others.
