Why would anyone want to live in NJ anyway?

A lot of people. I believe New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country.

Having recently moved to the NYC area, I have to vouch for what others are saying about it. It really is a great area to live (if you can afford the taxes).

People that knock it either don't know what they are talking about or they can't afford to live here and they are bitter about it.

I've lived in Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, California and Massachusetts. Now I live in Connecticut and it's the best place by far. Near perfect climate, tons of things to do, a great infrastructure and more restaurants in my neck of the woods alone for a lifetime of exploring.

A lot of people who don't know the area think it's all slums but that's far from the case. Yes, NYC metro has its slums and areas to avoid - as does New Jersey and Connecticut. But mostly it's upscale communities that are very safe. I live on three acres of Connecticut woods and despite being 50 miles from Times Square, you'd think you were in the middle of Maine. Only I'm 10-15 minutes away from civilization - when I want it.

Exactly! I live in a quiet, conservative part of NJ. Most people who have never been here don’t think such places exist, but they are very wrong. And going forward we will continue to be what we are while the so-called “conservative” politicians in the red states continue to cave in and sell out.

It really is a great area to live (if you can afford the taxes).

And you don't want to own guns, and you don't want to save money by pumping your own gas, and you want to be in the state most likely to run speed traps, and your really LIKE to pay high taxes and you like to pay high insurance premiums, and you like corrupt local government, etc.

I believe New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the country.

High population density is not a plus

a great infrastructure and more restaurants in my neck of the woods alone for a lifetime of exploring.

WE have extremely different criteria on what makes a good place to live.

I visit my inlaws every year in Middlesex. I love it there and wish I could afford to stay. The people are very family oriented and really many of them are very sweet. The towns are lovely and you are right they have no idea.
