We are not responsible for the sins of our fathers. My ancestors had slaves. And my recent ancestors were put in camps and murdered. There is no one with only angelic ancestors or only any one kind of ancestors.
The only reason for him to get upset is if he IS TODAY a racist and had guilt. I have zero guilt over my great grandfather having slaves. I had no say in the matter. Nor could I save my other great grandfathers from being starved and gassed to death. He’s an idiot.

There is a sort of poetic justice in misplaced white guilt causing PBS to waste more moeny and lay off workers.

I'm sure if we all traced our ancestors we'd find slaves, and slave-owners, mixed amongst them. We are all descended from Noah - and the Bible clearly tells us that all men have a depraved nature. No need to go back in time to wail over someone else's transgressions. We need only to look in the mirror and consider our own.
Also, I wonder if the libs ever considered what would have happened to the African slaves had they not been stolen and taken to American? Their ancestors were captured by other African tribesmen. If they didn't have the opportunity to sell them for profit, they would have just killed them. And being sold, there were two primary places where they could have been sold: America, or the Islamic world. If the Islamic world, the males would have been castrated. So sure, slavery is an abomination. God prohibits men-stealing. But yet slavery has existed for most of human history. And it exists today: In its overt forms in the Islamic world, and also in the more subtle forms in the West where the Government endeavors to keep its people enslaved (or addicted) to the State.
