Dustin Johnson pared on the last hole giving Spieth the win.
Two to go........
Colossal choke by Dustin Johnson. 3 putt from 12’ on the 72nd hole.
Let’s ask Greg Norman what might be going through his head right now.
Thinking with your putter, again.
Well, he was trying to make the 12 footer to win, so the issue is the miss of the, what? 2’ 3’ , comebacker. I think he should have taken more time.
Dustin’s wife almost had a wardrobe malfunction on TV.
...night putting. ;)
Choke ?
How much have you made this year playin professional golf ?
That was painful to watch. I hate that the tournament was decided on a choke. Nonetheless, congratulations to Jordan Spieth.
Not really a choke. Spieth missed short putts, too, and the greens are in horrible condition.
The greens at Chambers Bay always look like that.
And in western Washington. no less.
That was a long boring day of golf. I stopped watching at 8pm EST. I love golf. It must’ve been the course. Or the commentators.
“Like” button!!!
I was listening to the XM PGA channel while driving long distance today, and they aired an interview with Billy Horschel, who was forthright in his expression of his views, albeit very calm, controlled, and considered. He said he had “lost respect” for the USGA because of the nature and condition of this venue. I must say that to me it appeared ridiculous, with the ball rolling around like a marble in a wash basin.
I wonder if Johnson thinks he choked. I agree that the course was unfair. I wonder who would have won if they had played on a normal course.
Dustin Johnson has refused to go to the trophy presentation; customarily the runner-up does attend. He was speaking with tournament officials after the tournament.
Great sunday back nine in spite of a terrible venue
Tiger, of course. Isn't he the one who still gets at least half the ink in the newspapers?
Lately he’s getting ink for the wrong reasons. The 85 he shot was at Memorial, an otherwise ‘normal’ course.
Congratulations to Jordan Spieth. Condolences to Dustin Johnson. Great roller coaster finish.
