Connie Smith at 70, was better than many people at 20 today. I like my songs sung without the affectations and without the “production”. Show me a lady that can sing without background singers and do it live and I am in.

I really like Connie Francis’ “Where the boys are”. She has a number.
And yes, I am aware of Connie Smith’s songs too. “Cincinatti Ohio” is very good.
Oh, and I’m not sure if Petula Clark was mentioned, “Downtown” is a good song.
