The idea that it is arrogant to claim wisdom is the main lesson I remember from Humanities class in my engineering curriculum. In fact, it is arrogant to claim any virtue, including objectivity. I consider the Associated Press (any wire service) to be a mutual admiration society for people who vouch for each other’s virtue. Joining such an organization is, of course, tantamount to claiming the virtue for yourself.

DH said last night that he likes Lindsey for president. He thought it was his last name. When I stopped laughing/gagging I told him who he was. Still giggling about it.
