I think there was more to it. The revelation of his ugly personal life cracked the media shell of Tiger Woods. With the media bloodhounds sniffing around, he had to quit steroids. I mean, how else could he win at Torrey Pines with a broken leg, but a few years later quit the 11th hole at Farmers because of "deactivated glutes?" Drugs.

Golf is all mental and once you lose that aspect, you're done........
Ian Baker-Finch comes to mind. He was once the top golfer in the world but after winning the 1991 British Open he missed 32 cuts in a row on the PGA Tour from 1994-'97 then dropped off the tour......now he's a commentator.
