We have a black mutt that we got at the rescue. Black lab and great dane mix. Great dog.

Some new neighbors (now moved) had their landlord call us to keep our dog in our yard. (It always is - but another neighbor’s 15 year old overweight black lab will slowly walk the neighborhood). The new neighbors were muslim. I was telling my kids muslims don’t like dogs. A web search indicated black dogs were worse.

Three of my pound puppies are black dogs (well, one one is a Rot/Lab mix) they are all the greatest family members you could imagine (except George, he is a juvenile delinquent).
George is the Rot/Lab mix, but he loves me.

You got that right, it gets dark up here at night (out in the middle of nowhere) and Sophie, Jack, and George are invisible at night.
They go running out the door after something and disappear.

My Jack is a Black Lab/Newfoundland; he is blacker than a black cat in a coal bin at midnight.
He's 18 now, but he still love his wienies.

Beautiful puppy.
Good Boy. Hate to say it but when I was at the pound in Compton, Ca. I saw 2 of these beauties (seemed to be well trained, obedient, and scared as hell) being dropped off for the kill chamber. Looked to be about 8 months to a year old. I asked about them and was told the owner could no longer keep them because the family had just had a child and the wife was afraid of them. Stupid people; NO BETTER FRIEND, NO BETTER PROTECTOR, NO BETTER SECURITY FOR THE KIDS. I was told I could not adopt them because I had just adopted two other dogs. STUPID RULE. I have 20 acres and no neighbors for 3 miles, they would have had a loving home (lots of weenies) and a great life with the rest of the pack.

RRIIGHT; I just finished vacuuming 2 weeks worth of it, I have enough to stuff a queen sized mattress.

A friend of mine has a pet store- doesn’t deal in dogs, though... He does sell a lot of rabbits, but the black rabbits in every litter always sell last.

Must be Black Rabbit of Inle’ Syndrome.

Hi Lady. Been having another bout of the stomach problems. Just had a birthday yesterday. I just keep getting younger and younger. ROTFLOL I will be back on. These things take time and I am getting sick of them.

In about 30 years of various attempts and five dogs, the closest I ever got to pure black was my first, a Black Lab/ Irish Setter cross who looked like a jet black Golden Retriever. Unfortunately, he had about twelve white hairs on his chest. All the others have been black and white. A jet black Great Dane would be really cool.

What's even more, the records from the shelter said her name was Rosalinda.

ROTFLMAO!!! Next time I’ll try for a jet black Great Dane and name him “Baskerville” after the Hound of the Baskervilles. BTW, the Brits have made three films of that Sherlock Holmes classic, each of which starred a Daney dog as the Hound.

My wife went to get us a kitten at Christmas from a family that was recently accursed with them. It was free.

The lady said “Hey, I also have this black kitten that no one wants. I will give you $50 to take him”.

So we got two.
