When Jerry starts mocking them in routines and other comedians join him, I’ll believe they GAF about stopping PCBS.
Mockery works. Always.
That would be Christians, conservatives and anyone else who disagrees with them.
“The comics job, he says, is to make people think about important social issues.”
Wow, this kid really needs to get laid.
I mentioned this on earlier thread concerning this twit and the letter he wrote to Jerry. To think back in my day as a university student in the early 90s, I liked going to working men’s types of pubs and listened to country music (while many of my peers were spaced out on grunge and Led Zeppelin). I did not really consider myself a conservative until a little after my days as a student, but it still would have never occurred to me to have that kid’s outlook on things (and to be honest after a while in my university days I was becoming a great deal sensitive toward the antics of the politically correct forces on campus trying to control things at that time even).
So PC.
A common failing amongst the under-educated young is the lack of perspective and the absence of self-criticism. While it is normal for age to add perspective that moderates the absolutism that tinges youthful fanaticism, it is REAL education’s job to give the jump-start to that process.
Of course, in today’s academia, it is the lack of REAL education in the non-physical sciences that this letter from young Mr Berteaux demonstrates. The post high school education for the majority of schools has been malignantly influenced by biases from liberal academics and their cohorts in government. Pseudo-scholar Berteaux has no desire for anything that has the slightest chance of opening his mind or disturbing his conformity. What a waste!
According to the PC crowd comedy is not a laughing matter.
It's broader than being personally offended. Postmodernist Libtards use political correctness, identity politics, and shaming and producing guilt in people as a way to silence opponents and those who belong to the oppressive class.
But those "unhip" comedians were really funny. They just told jokes and dispensed with the "socially relevant" material.
Amy Schumer and Louis KC are good examples of smut comics who aren’t funny.
I remember going to see a young and talented comic named Jay Leno perform local nightclubs back in the 70’s when I was in college. Yes Leno poked fun at us, relentlessly at times, but we were too naive back then to know to be offended.
Thing is if this Leno guy had truly had the foresight and knowledge of Mr. Berteaux as his adviser, Leno might have actually amounted to something.
Despite this, I found this Leno guy to be funny and entertaining. Wonder what ever happened to him (and what could have been)?
