[...] Early reports on Tebow out of the Eagles' OTAs have been overwhelmingly positive. Tebow is throwing the ball better than expected, and he attributes his improvement to his offseason work with House. Tebow said the pair worked from the ground up, focusing on balance, posture, sequencing, timing," per John Gonzalez of CSN Philly.
[...] Reporters at practice are not the only ones who have noticed the improvements that Tebow has made throwing the football. Kelly is excited with what he has seen so far.
Watch him throw, Kelly said, per CSN Philly. I think hes improved. He spent a lot of time over the last two years in terms of working on his game." [...]

Because it costs them next to nothing.

My question to jeffersondem (ping) was rhetorical.
jeffersondem got through telling us why no one would take a chance on tebow when in fact he’s on his 4th NFL team.
Those teams would have had to change their systems the way Denver did. Tebow managed to have a winning record and a playoff win against a 12-4 team.
yeah, that all got dissected up above.
Personally I'm of the opinion Denver won that playoff game in spite of Tebow, not because of him.
Save your breath, nothing's going to change my mind.
Ugh, the Jets have made horrible decisions and trades for years. Tough to root for them, though I still do.
Save your breath, nothing’s going to change my mind.
...
And I’m not convinced you aren’t a Tebow hater as you claim, so you can also save your breath.
Here's the beauty of the internet, ready?
I don't care. So what.
“Instead it took the Jets another what? Two years to fire Ryan?”
Thank you for making my point.
The other beauty of the Internet is you can tell other people what to do, but not follow your own advice.
And I said the exception proves the rule. The phrase is derived from a legal principle of republican Rome: exceptio probat regulam in casibus non exceptis (”the exception confirms the rule in cases not excepted”), a concept first proposed by Cicero in his defence of Lucius Cornelius Balbus.
Sorry, I didn't understand your question was rhetorical. I took you seriously.
If opponents were studying tape of Tebow as the season progressed, they were also studying tape of Denver's offensive coordinator. And what they saw was coaching and play calling that was atrocious. For 3.5 quarters of each game, the OC called running plays almost exclusively on 1st and 2nd downs leaving the team in long-yardage situations a majority of the time they faced third down. It is much easier to defend the pass and the run when you know when the OC will call each. It wasn't until late in the 4th quarter that the OC would give up and just let Tebow be Tebow. And that's not just my opinion - others with more football knowledge have said the same thing.

Did this tendency increase between Tebow's 7-1 start and his 1-4 finish? If not, it doesn't explain the downward trend.
“Did this tendency increase between Tebow’s 7-1 start and his 1-4 finish? If not, it doesn’t explain the downward trend.”
As I remember, the play calling was first a discernable pattern, then a gas-tight certainty that any opponent could depend upon.
There may be information about the playoff game of which you are unaware: The Steelers defense had only given up 6 completions of 30-plus yards all season; Tebow threw 5 in this game. Tebow became the first player to have 4 completions of more than 30 yards in one quarter of a playoff game in the modern era (1960) and the first to do so in any game since Warren Moon did it in 1990. Tebow’s 97.3 Total QBR (out of 100)is the second highest in history. Aaron Rodgers has the highest at 98.1. Of course, others have good numbers as well. Tom Brady has a 95.1 (vs Denver in 2012) and Peyton Manning was only 6 points lower than Tebow in the win over San Diego in 2014.
“Still, I have to respect the coach’s decision to keep Tebow away from the ball and preserve the team’s 6-10 season. Great call.”
True. Could have been 4-12 or 2-14 otherwise. (DoodleDawg)
The Jets actually were 4-12 in 2014. Without Tebow. And with Rex Ryan.
As Tebow is now with his 4th NFL team, it seems a bit odd to suggest that no one will take a chance on him, don’t you think?
4 teams out of 32 taking a chance with him makes the statement that the Eagles are the exception that proves your stated rule, despite your fine but unneeded Latin explication, obviously incorrect.
Note to self: dmz does not like Latin explications.

When it is something as plebian as ‘the exception proves the rule’, yea, you can withhold the Latin explications.
If it was something like “adventavit asinus, pulcher et fortissimus”, then absolutely, explicate away.
But that’s a nice deflection right there from what we were actually talking about.

BTW, HoF = Hall of Fame.
No, this is Affirmative Action for Christians thread.
