I had a hankering for a BLT, and I wanted to check out the car wash that’s across the freeway from here, and I wanted to check out Filtrete filters, to see if they were “affordable.”
I headed for the car wash first, and it’s like the one in Vegas that I was going to with Busdaddy. Prices are the same, but here, they have pavilion tents for the drying and detailing. I will go but not yet. Maybe payday. The truck really needs to be cleaned inside and out and I can’t do it in this heat. Otherwise, I’d go down the street to the “quarter car wash,” which is just a bay.
Then I headed for Walmart and got a head of lettuce and saw a guy in produce, stocking vegetables. I asked him where the tomatoes were. He said they were out. I said, “So am I.” I put the lettuce back and walked out the door. I DID price the Filtrete filters, and they were $17 for the size I need.
Anyway, I went across the street to what used to be Albertson’s but is now Haggen’s and found everything I needed, (as I thought I would) and even found the thick sliced bacon at two pounds for $6. One pound would have been $5.
The trip wasn’t a total loss, but now I want a cold beer.
I’ve learned the psalm. Now I’m having a small Pink Drink.
My voice isn’t what it should be, after a week of barking commands at Cub Scouts. “Den 4, Den 4! Pick up, move out! Sense of urgency!”
