AMD makes computer chips. They make a lot of controller chips and they used to manufacture Intel CPUs under license to help Intel avoid anti-trust laws. Then they actually started manufacturing Intel compatible CPUs that could run the same instruction set Intel chips can run. Now Intel CPUs are typically in higher-end computers and AMD CPUs are in lower-end ones.

I’m assuming you see something that raises the question?

Oh, and for completeness, AMD = American Micro Devices.

There are two programs with AMD at the beginning (I would have to look again) but they were installed very early in the computer’s construction. I just wanted to know if I could delete them without problems in other programs.
