I don't do songs. At least I don't do them very well.
I do poems.
This is a poem I wrote a few years ago ... for the Tax-chick family!
Middlin
Im in the middle here at home.
I go to middle school.
When people ask me how things are,
"Just middlin" is the rule.
No one thinks that I can do,
The things that others can.
And yet if something has gone wrong,
They think Ive hatched a plan.
Dont get me wrong, Id like to be,
The secret, stalking prankster,
But what Id really like to do,
Is be a bigger sister.
"Ill watch the little ones tonight.
You go and have some fun."
Id like to earn the trust of folks,
And get some big things done.
"Ive got my drivers license, Mom,
Ill get the milk and bread."
I want to be much more than just,
A mouth that should be fed.
But growing up takes lots of time,
And patience from the others.
I wish theyd have some more of what,
Is wasted on my brothers.

'Course, if someone wants to make it into a song, (hint, hint), well, that would be okay with me.
Who knows? Maybe the Andrews Sisters got started that way.
The Andrews Sisters got started when your voice mattered more than your looks.
Unfortunately, now it’s the other way ‘round and my looks would keep me from ever launching a career.
Not that my voice is much better.
