Iirc, Fortnum’s is a food emporium, like the old Balducci’s in New York, while Harrod’s is a department store.

I’ve been there, too, in 1983.

I was in Harrods after Princess Diana died. It was so crowded on all levels I could barely move. Everyone it seemed wanted to see the display of Diana and Dodi.

I bought some tea from Fortum and Masons, making a mistake when I got home I had to buy a strainer.

I got my Harrods souvenirs I’m ashamed to say in Heathrow airport.
