The cause of an early morning fire north of San Diego was an electrocuted bird falling from an active power line
A bird carrying a snake in its talons struck power lines north of San Diego, sparking a hillside fire just west of The Merge.
San Diego Police arrived to the location on Dunhill Street near the intersection of Interstates 5 and 805 just before 6 a.m.
Flames were burning very close to businesses including the General Atomics building, officials said.
Officers called in San Diego Fire-Rescue crews who contained the fire within an hour.
Fire officials initially told NBC 7 a bird with a snake in its mouth was electrocuted on a power line and fell to the ground, sparking the fire. A photo released by officials later shows the snake in the hawk's grasp.
"A hawk that hit the high voltage power line, caught fire, and fell to the ground," SD Fire-Rescue spokesperson Lee Swanson said in a written release.
There were no structures damaged and no evacuations ordered.
This area of San Diego is home to many companies in the region's biochemical industry.
How the heck would I know???
That was then. This is now. How old did you say you were???
W00t!!!
Got it, Nully! I’ll drink a toast of coughie to you.
I didn’t...
lol
How do I adjust the security settings to allow an update on Adobe Flash Player?
You could mash bananas, mixed them in the French Vanilla, and freeze it.
Some kids have gone out to play with the neighbors. When they get back, we can have lunch and then maybe go to the Lego Store.
I need to have another ulcer cocktail. I hate this.
Things were going good...
I’m tired. If we had a talking parrot, it would say, “Oh, just shuuuuut uuuuup!”
good question
Firefox doesn’t like Flash Player any more.
And that means I can’t play trivial pursuit and mahjong. *sigh*
Now I won’t know how my brain is functioning until I make an embarrassing mistake. :o[
I was thinking of lying down. I just had the cocktail, and used the last of the honey, so I’m hoping this dose was enough to stop the ulcers. It’s very tiring having a stomach ache all the time.
Try downloading Chrome (You might need to remember your passwords to those sites)
If this is still Microsoft Security Essentials you shouldn’t have to.
You might have to tell Firefox it can let the Adobe sight launch pop-ups. I can look that up for you if you like. (I use Opera and Chro-magnum)
I chose Firefox this morning because I had access to it, and couldn’t get to Opera.
If you can do that, I would appreciate it! So far, it’s been a disappointing, depressing day.
And I’m going out to check the mail!
Reminds me of the guy who bought a talking parrot only to find out it’s previous owner was a sailor and the parrot had developed a sailor’s trash mouth (which is almost as bad as a stock trader’s).
The man tried everything he could think of to discourage the vulgar language but to no avail. Finally, after one embarrassing visit from his Priest he was so frustrated he put the parrot in the freezer. He quickly got control of his emotions, though, and let the bird back out and into its cage.
After a few minutes the parrot said, “Sir, I truly apologize for my language of late and my resistance to your attempts to change it. I assure you I will be a model of decorum from this point forward.”
After a couple of more minutes it said, “Can I ask what the chicken did wrong?”
In the upper right corner there’s a menu button (looks like three horizontal lines). Click that and chose settings. Pick the Content tab. You can either uncheck the “Block pop-up windows” checkbox or click the Exceptions button and type in the URL that’s trying to install the software.
It’s past time to kill this stupid thread, you idiots!
Does anyone want to send the memo to dalereed?
Or should we just send him to the under-sub-basement for his education?
For the record, I have never been to Id and have never met an Idiot visiting this country.
