WordPress. A common blog platform. Sometimes prone to exploits, primarily on UNIX-based systems. Available as a hosted system (on WordPress.com), or you can roll your own.

Other people use Google Blogger. (Free blogs usually at the third level—something.blogspot.com)

(The most recent critical bug, oddly enough, did not affect Windows Server 2000/2003/2008/2012/2016 systems. Google "GHOST Wordpress" if you're interested.)
