Please join me in petitioning the White House to award the Medal of Freedom to a truly wonderful and deserving individual.
On a person note: Yogi was my boyhood sports idol. I only wanted to play catcher and always wore #8. Unfortunately I knew I was never going to play past High School.
As an interesting mental 'what if?' choice, I never could deside which I would choose between getting a ride into space or being able to start one game behind the plate in Yankee stadium.
SweetiePalm and I were at the last 4th of July game in Old Yankee stadium. I proposed to her in the middle of the 5th inning during the first 4th of July game in New Yankee stadium.

You know that “Far Side” cartoon panel of the devils laughing at the suggestion box? Yeah, that’s Obama’s reaction.
A living national treasure
Ping list keepers, please pass this along to your ping lists.

I have been to the Berra Museum in Jersey.
Not sure he would accept the honor, after all , Obama is a homosexual, moslem and communist, and works every day with his fellow travelers to destroy the American Republic.
Berra might tell HUSSEIN BARAKA to shove the MOF up Reggie Loves backside.
I want to thank you for making this day necessary
“”Yogi was my boyhood sports idol””
Mine too but in my case a “girlhood” sports idol ALONG with Phil Rizutto, Whitey Ford, Vic Raschi, Johnny Mize, Tommy Heinrich - all I can remember at my old age. My bedroom walls were plastered with 8x10 photos of each Yankee player. I had a baseball signed by them all probably in 1950 or so. I used to lie on the floor by the radio in the living room and keep score during the games. My work around the house was done so my mother allowed me that time.
Great memories!
I don’t know. No one goes to the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremonies anymore. It’s too crowded.
I think he might have said “This president’s idea of being free has cost us all just too much!”
Something like that.
Yogi, hang in there until we get a better president.
Love Yogi! He’s a national treasure-it’s an honor and a privilege to sign!!!
