Abolish helmets. They offer a false sense of security.
Football as we know it will not exist in 10 years.
The players are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever. The players add mass that stresses the joints and ligaments way beyond normal wear. Medical staff are able to detect injuries and problems almost immediately and almost always err on the side of caution.
Yet some act surprised when the number of injuries have increased and seem more significant.
Some see the game dying. I can’t see it. Changing? Sure. But as Ice-T’s song “Shut Up. Be Happy” says:
All sport broadcasts will proceed as normal.
It’s a major source of distraction for the masses.
As a multi. head injury pt. [my first ones were in High School, I broke 2 different helmets in the same place {the Riddel air helmets}] I support this guys decision to leave the game. It takes 30-40 years for a moderate concussion to heal & depending on where it is located at you can get a world of different problems, from vision problems, to hearing, & let’s not forget about memory & thinking clearly. And if the injury is deep enough in your brain breathing & pulse are affected.
My last one occured on Nov.5th, 1997 in Yuma,Az when I was run over by an ILLEGAL in a hurry to get into an In & out Burger place & had it NOT been for my full face helmet [a Bell Moto 3 {full faced}] So now I have several moderate concussions & have seizures & do not think like I once did, loose my temper a lot more & faster & more violently too. So I stand with this guy
Forget the silliness of NFL politics and learn to love rugby. You’ll never find a better sport.
