You mean, if someone snidely belittles you in the media, you would just lay back and take it? Does anyone other than George W Bush do that, thereby causing certain suggestible people to think it must be true? I noticed yesterday that Hannity defended himself in no uncertain terms when Linda Graham belittled him. Was that prompted by Hannity’s ego. Why is Trump not allowed an ego? Is allowing someone to slap you around a sign of strength? Charles Krauthammer got his start in politics trying to get Ronald Reagan defeated.

If one responds to criticism by name-calling, as Trump did, they've already lost the argument and look petty.

Give me an example of a major GOP presidential contender doing the same.

Either they will clear up a position issue or just ignore the sniping criticism.
