Well, as I read it, the Parent’s aren’t feeding their Children. This idea that the Schools have become a Home away from Home is getting ridiculous.
Pack then a damn lunch and give them a couple of bucks in case a Dog steals the Kid’s Lunch on the way to School.
If the Kid forgot his Lunch money, call the Parents and let them know. The Employee should not have to be in a position of being the Parent.
Okay, I’m just a meanie. Never heard of this kind of ridiculous crap when I was a Kid.
Okay, I have a solution, Apple Pay.
It is shocking to some people. I had the experience myself many times and frankly it builds character. It doesn’t really hurt anybody unless the kid doesn’t eat other meals either. Kids are at school after all. There are many lessons to be learned other than just the academics.
And I repeat, the kids are offered a cheese sandwich and milk. When kids bring their lunch there is a vast difference between what one will get and what another will get. Welcome to life. Lots of people have more than you have. Live with it. My parents were very young and poor (especially by today’s standards) when I was little. So? I learned to respect the property and fortunes of others without resenting it. There were those who had more and those who had less. That’s what living in a capitalist society is like. Consider the alternative.
I heard a weepy radio commercial yesterday that urged parents to take advantage of free lunches, plus more, for kids during the summer.
