Study: ET not home … Where are the aliens?

Despite the relatively new frenzy to find extraterrestrial life in the universe after astronomers discovered water to exist on a number of celestial bodies over the years, research shows that the only place aliens can be “found” are on bone-chilling late-night documentaries of UFO sightings.

According to exhaustive analysis performed by a team of scientists at Penn State University (PSU), absolutely no sign of highly advanced extraterrestrial lifeforms exist in the known universe — at least 100,000 galaxies of it, that is.

A lonely frontier

In their latest virtual expedition through space, scientists have used all of their high-tech gadgetry to come up empty-handed — to the dismay of many who claim that human intelligence has spawned from alien lifeforms.

“The researchers used observations from NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE), an unmanned satellite carrying an infrared-sensitive telescope that is exploring the entire universe by collecting infrared light that comes to Earth,” WorldMag.com reports. “The scientists believe a galaxy with intelligent life would have technologies that would produce detectable infrared wavelengths, but 100 million data entries showed nothing.”

I was going to ask the same, but not knowing how far each part of the light spectrum travels, decided not. However, we do know the visible part of the spectrum shows a large view of the countless galaxies via Hubble. Of course we're looking at billions of years ago according to the speed of light.

Also, what if so-called "dark matter" or "anti-matter" interrupts or degrades certain parts of the light spectrum? How far do UV photons travel in our current knowledge? The questions go on and on and I don't think physics equations are the end all for the answers.

To answer a question about are we alone in the Universe in the movie Contact, the father said, "If so, what a huge waste of space". Personally, I believe something created the Singularity for the Big Bang just because. It could have its own reasons. It could even be a child playing marbles as in Men In Black.

> I am one who doesn’t think there are any aliens. I think the popular imagination underestimates the complexity of life, the odds against it ever happening, and how uninhabitable the rest of the universe really is.

You are thinking in very limited terms. The vast expanses of space make it nearly impossible to travel to places with current technology to find life. The closest star to us is Alpha Centauri which is 4.3 light years from earth; literally trillions of miles that would take approximately 165,000 years to travel to. With such expanses in space i think the more appropriate answer is we just don’t know and won’t know until one of them decides to park his ship on the WH lawn and announce that they are here. Our finite brains, limited knowledge and lack of understanding just make it nearly impossible to answer this question coherently.

Von Neuman Probes could be sent out to explore and replicate themselves, which would create a fleet of ships exploring the galaxy. The entire galaxy could be explored in far less time, even given the distances.

Oh come on. A couple of barflys from the local pub ran out there and made those patterns in the middle of the night with sticks. They make all of them.
They don’t even need lights. Case closed.

No, mind closed.

Welded shut in the face of both gross and subtle impossibilities, as a matter of fact.

No matter. The messages aren't for everyone.

That’ right Doug and Dave or whatever those two doofuses names were made every crop formation in the middle of the night without even using lights and newsfools and acadunces knew the mystery was solved.

If I was one of the British farmers I would have pressed charges on them and then see if they would still claim them.

"Study: ET not home … Where are the aliens?"

Given the current political environment, if ET is conservative or ethical, ET does not exist.

There is no them, that's your problem. No them, no reproduction - ever - under observed conditions. Not even with a $100K reward for proving it possible under actual conditions of reproducing an existing one. Not in 20 years - zip.

No one to sue.

The ‘aliens’ are here integrating into societies. But they’re not from other planets, they’re from other dimensional reality of this solar system, they’re demonic entities from fallen Angels. God does miracles; Angels use technology, and there are good Angels and bad Angels. The great deception is almost ready to be sprung on distracted humankind. ‘More bread and circuses please’

Do a Google on Barry Setterfield. The speed of light is much slower now than in eons past, due to the increasing zero point field energy and exponentially growing numbers of virtual paired particles popping.

Technology evolves to the point where an intelligent civilization can do something stupid.

Do I actually really seriously have to put a giant sarcasm tag on these posts?

Or is it you really think thay every damn one of these crop formations is just a product of nocturnal hoaxers?

You say it's sarcasm about a subject people call a hoax while not being sarcastic about it being a hoax in order to call attention to the hoaxing aspect that you are being sarcastic about... coordinate, coordinate, coordinate...

Okay, let's see... IF you are saying that most crop formations are NON-current-human-made advanced-technology-mysteries, THEN I am agreeing with you. If, on the other hand, you are saying that most crop formations are hoaxes made by people with boards and string, then I am NOT agreeing with you. In any case, your hipness went one switchback too far and lost me in the box canyon...

Listen ace let me say this as simply as possible. There is a bigger factor in the production of these formations than just some damn hoaxers. Now you can believe that they are made by drunks or college students or some other jokers all you want but I think there is a complicated intelligence behind most of them.

And I damn sure was obviously being sarcastic about the hoax factor. It is absolutely pathetic the way some have to be led by the hand. Goodbye.

Also, why do cosmologists think that another civilization would emit infrared light waves?

I'm guessing that they don't. I'm guessing that whatever wavelength they do use will slow down over time and distance and will look to us as Doppler "red-shifted" infrared waves.

I think some of the crop circles are made naturally - something like ball lightening. Tracing electrical fields, magnetic fields, etc. Sort of like other amazing designs in nature (e.g. snow flakes).

Obviously something that spells out a message in ASCI isn’t natural. That may have been a hoax. Or it may have been by some intellegent design. I might need to look into that one. The hoaxers level mechanically bent and crushed crops. “Real” circles have bent crops without the crushing, and show signs of heat like burst joints. (As would be caused by something like ball lightening or some other form of energy.)

I’m up in the air on aliens. Could be. I’m more inclined to think that it is of some spiritual/demonic nature. As a Christian it is easier for me to believe that than aliens. (With what are believed to be aliens actually demons.)

Where is Quix when we need him/her!?

So I guess you missed in my post #36 when I said "IF you are saying that most crop formations are NON-current-human-made advanced-technology-mysteries, THEN I am agreeing with you."

I could make a crack about needing to lead you by the hand, but instead I'll make a peace offering of this hoax-damning photo:
