There are so many things about that particular movie that I love.
The gruff old Sergeant back from fighting out in the Pacific, realizing that not only has he changed, but his wife and kids have changed as well. Back from fighting out in the Pacific, realizing that not only has he changed, but his wife and kids have changed as well. I really enjoyed the interplay between him (Fredric March) and his wife, Myrna Loy. Especially when he got drunk and she had to put him into bed. And the scene with him and the Air Force captain in the back of the cab was priceless!
And him and his wife trying to explain to their daughter that they do indeed understand what it is like to be in love.
Just a brilliant movie all around.
Homer was simply brilliant, too. It’s one of my all time favorite movies, not just war movies.
Have a pleasant day.
