I could write a book but the herd mentality combined with tiny, small minds unable to think, let alone achieve, will exhaust themselves trying to come up with a substitute for achievement.

Celebrating the perverse and the inherently unnatural is, at its root, the usual secular humanism i.e. man reigns supreme over God and nature. By the same token, PETA care not a whit about animals but about elevating themselves over their peers by laying a claim that they ‘care more.’

Leftists love to snicker at bygone eras, especially the Victorians who had all manner of odd (in the leftists’ view) beliefs, customs, etc. But much of what went on in Victorian England, or 20s America, or any other decade was strictly the result of running with the crowd and a fear of mockery over one’s nonconformity.

If you took a survey of any freshman class at any college selected at random and asked them to check yes/no on this question: ‘I am an independent, free thinker’ you would get a guaranteed 100% response rate in the affirmative. Yet this same freshman class would probably be in lockstep on 90-95% or more of questions about gay marriage, animal ‘rights,’ etc. So much for independent thought, to say nothing of freedom.

Education is, or used to be, as much about what not to do as about what to do. The same for religion. But infantile resentment of limits, parameters, finite resources, and observable cause-and-effect led to a grasping, entitled culture awash in denial. The belief that homosexuality - a behavior that is virtually unknown in nature (despite constant attempts to point out anomalous exceptions) and an unambiguous marker for removal from the gene pool i.e. someone uninterested in natural procreation will not naturally procreate - is suddenly inherently equal, valuable, viable, etc. is not only fatuous but dangerous even to the normal population.

The point is that innate human weakness and a primal fear of being different are difficult to recognize, let alone overcome, especially for those conditioned to conform. Homosexuality and gay marriage are, for the most part, no longer debated on fact, merit, logic, history, health, impact on society, etc.; rather, one’s membership in the pro/con camp is the sole criterion as the usual attempt to paint various GOP candidates as Westboro Church members demonstrates. Once again, leftists have unilaterally equated their fatuous opinion (and it is strictly opinion) with fairness, justice, etc. It should come as no surprise that the weak-minded (including, sadly and inevitably, the National Review) are now stampeding across this line of demarcation, just as the buffalo thundered off sheer cliffs to their doom, panicked by a relatively tiny number of cowboys.
