I just heard Walker on Neal Cavuto's program hint that he might consider a Walker/Rubio ticket.
What do Freepers think of this?
The Vice-President pick is ALWAYS for strategic purposes, first and foremost.
I agree. Walker has demonstrated his lack of a core on many issues, amnesty being the most obvious. I think that he is considering Rubio to win Florida. Not a bad strategy, but it is revealing.
Yep. Also shows his weakness on foreign affairs, almost having to team up with a US Senator before it’s time to.
In the past, I thought that most VP picks were at least in agreement with the top of the ticket on major issues. Maybe that was just the wrong perception on my part.
“thank you !”
McCain / Palin comes to mind...
Of course who knows what major issues Joe Biden agrees with Obama, unless Obama is into being a dirty old creepy man...
You mean like Kennedy and Johnson?
I was too young at the time to really understand what policies Kennedy and Johnson supported. By the time Johnson was elected, I had formed an opinion of him that he was a rattlesnake. I based that on his escalation of the Vietnam War and his Great Society programs, not to mention his likely involvement in JFK’s death.
JFK was a mess in his personal life, but did not seem as far to the left on Vietnam. Bobby was better than either of them in a lot of ways.
I think Reagan and Bush agreed on the bigger issues, as did Carter and Mondale before them. I also think Obama and Biden are simpatico.
Joke Son, Joke!
Walker is my far distant 2nd choice after Cruz.
That being said, after due consideration, if he adds Rubio to the ticket, it will make me have 2nd thoughts about any chances of voting for him.
Seems to reaffirm in my mind that Walker is the stealth GOP-E candidate.
We’ll never know what goes on in Biden’s mind. Makes you want to grab him by the ears, look him in the eye and ask, “What’s it Like in there?”
On the other hand, I’m sure we’re better off not knowing!
You nailed it again. Walker is the Jeb Default Plan.
Were you even around at that time? Reagan and Bush couldn't have been farther apart on the issues. Bush called Reagan's plan for the economy "voodoo economics". Their joining together was a shotgun wedding, arranged at the last minute, because that GOP powers-that-be wanted Reagan to accept a Reagan-Ford ticket (a "co-presidency"), which Reagan absolutely rejected.
GHW Bush was downstairs in a bar, drowning his sorrows when operatives came looking for him. The shotgun wedding was arranged: he was to be the Veep. Reagan accepted Bush as a last-minute compromise. Nancy Reagan mistrusted the Bushes from the outcome.
I did not follow politics closely back then. I don’t think Bush held much sway in Reagan’s administration, but we sure paid a price when he rode that to the Presidency.
“Even if Cruz or Jindal, arguably the two most conservative candidates in the field...”
Jindal talks like a conservative. That’s all.
Agree
Rubio sucks but is the only way to ensure Florida
SHRILLARY must be defeated at any cost
U suck, Walker. Lol.
That’s not even the point.
But, if I was President, I would never want a person like Rubio who got in league with John McCain and his “Gang of ______” (he had so many, I’m not sure of the number); However, in that GANG was Chuck Schumer - and that is disgusting. Even though I believe it was Cruz who set Rubio straight (the left was just using him), I no longer trust Rubio.
I’ll have to add that to my reading list, since there seem to be some parallels between then and now. Thanks.
I totally agree...Rubio showed he was not ready for higher office or even GOP leadership...
Sucking up to McCain and Schumer was incomprehensible...
they used him like a rented mule...
