“So when did Microsoft Word and such became a subscription.”
It is a subscription because they have to pay programmers to fix bugs created by previous bug fixes

Tip: once you get the distribution you need, copy the download file to a flash drive or CD. You’ll never have this problem again.
I’ve got 100s of downloads on a 16GB flash drive.

Ditto for Office 365. I have it on two Windows 8.1 machines, one Apple Mac (Intel) and even my iPad - all for one annual fee of $99.99.

LVR, do a Google search on pivot table tutorial. Lots of good stuff there. Thanks upchuck, that's exactly what I did and you are correct, lot's of good stuff!
I've also looked for sample data sets and found sources but am hesitant to download one for fear of cooties. I've used 2000 too but upgraded to 2003 quite a while ago, has a much nicer interface than 2000....but like you say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it...plus there is that change thingy!

Funny replies like "put it in the trash and go to the Apple store for a real computer" will get an appreciative chuckle, but not much more :)

Does LibreOffice have macros, autocorrect, and autotext like MSWord?

That’s because your new box came with Office 365, not standalone Office. Different products. . .

I bought this a year ago. It is a more polished version of Office 2010.
You get a discount based on your work email account.
Take Office home for just $9.95

It is best to buy the dvd instead of downloading because if you needed to reinstall you would need to locate the email and link to do so instead of just inserting the disc. The cost with shipping and tax is about $35.
You get the Product code by using your work email account.

Yes, yes and yes. The macros may not be compatible between MS-Office and LibreOffice, however.

Don't think there is a download for MS Office, but you can download LibreOffice for free. Sorry for joining the party late.... Looks like some folks have posted links to MS Office so I don't have anything to add at present. Thanks for the ping!
