UPDATE: Eight more companies have pulled their ads from TLC's 19 Kids and Counting on Wednesday, May 27. David's Bridal, Pure Leaf Iced Tea, Ace Hardware, ConAgra, Party City, Crayola, and Behr all made their announcements on social media.
"We share your concerns and it is our understanding that TLC has pulled the show from their lineup," David's Bridal wrote on its Facebook page. "Should TLC reinstate the show, we will take steps to have our ads removed from future episodes."
According to TMZ, Jimm Dean has also pulled its ads from the popular reality series.

I keep saying this is just the tip of the ice berg. I know there will be more to this. They were trying to keep this “hush hushed” to keep the show with TLC. I know there is more to come.
What he did was wrong and ‘potentially’ criminal. We don't know as we have no specifics beyond the nebulous ‘inappropriate touching’. Lots of Senators and Congressmen are credibly accused of groping on a regular basis. In Italy it is just shy of a spectator sport. It doesn't absolve Duggar from what he did, but let's exercises a little discretion.
Believing that he is as culpable as a sitting president gives you a warped sense of justice and reality. There isn't a Juvenile Hall in the country that would have prosecuted that case. Most sexual assault cases in Juvenile Halls concern actual forcible rape, not fondling sleeping individuals. Usually the authorities are notified when the sibling delivers a child at the local hospital. The reality is that most instances are never reported as a quick trip to the local Planned Parenthood office, the statutory rapists favorite accomplice after the fact, makes ‘the whole thing go away’.
What Duggar did is the type of thing that happens when a male kid is 10 - 16 years old. That doesn't make it right, it doesn't condone it, but if it isn't normal it is at least not rare I am sorry to say. That is one of the reasons why we do not prosecute children in the same manner that we prosecute adults.
Had Duggar raped or murdered a sibling at 14 or 15 he would have been released no later than his 21 birthday. In MOST instances his records would be sealed forever. Even for murder.
I know a few detectives in the Cleveland Police Department. One is in Vice and he has described some of the several cases a year of sibling sexual assault. NONE have been as innocuous as those described as being perpetrated by Mr. Duggar.
In most cases it is a straight up forcible rape of a child by an adolescent male in the family. They almost uniformly end up being pleaded to counseling and ‘community intervention’ and being turned over to DCFS for follow up.
All cases of the type described by the information we have about Duggar are simply turned over to DCFS as the juvenile courts are way too busy with cases of felony assault, armed robbery, battery, attempted murder and murder. Charges are rarely filed and the cases are treated by family services.
It is just the way it is.
What Clinton did to Juanita Broaddrik is a life sentence in several states. As few as twenty years ago it was a capital offense in some!
What he did with Monica Lewinski was also a felony in several states as he engaged in what could be seen as felonious sexual harassment in the workplace. He exercised inordinate power over a subordinate, one barely over 21, for his own sexual gratification. Losing his job was the minimum he should have received. Sexual Harassment cases this egregious have been prosecuted as rape by coercion.
Josh Duggar acted inexcusably more than a decade ago and at the time NO ONE excused it! He told his parents, received councelling and they reported it to the police. That is a damn site more than a majority of people would have ever done. Most would have completely hushed it up and no one would have ever known about it. They certainly would have never gone to the police.
If you don't believe me, you are simply being naive.
My hunch is that this went well past inappropriate touching. The story will come out.

Beyond the paid article by a ‘family friend’ there will be no further information. No better than something you or I would say as it will all be bologna anyway.

What if Josh Duggar has repented and his sisters really have forgiven him and put the incident behind them. Do you think joining the liberal media and piling on their misery is something God would approve of?

Neither of these ‘reliable’ stories offers anything new. It is already substantiated that counselling and DCFS was involved in the case. As with ALL DCFS cases, they are sealed from public records acts as they involve minor children as both offenders and victims.

The trooper is a Christian who was lied to by Jim Bob. He was told it only happened one time and it was through clothes.
The Duggars are liars. Hopefully they prayed about that, too.

I highly respect you as a good Christian and a strong Pro life person, but I have to call bologna in this instance.
There is little to no reason to assume that this goes any farther than what it is described and already known. This type of situation happens, particularly with pubescent boys, is hardly unheard of.
Boys 12 to 17 are little more than hormones in t-shirts and sneakers. They have little to no self control and often engage in highly suspect activities, and YES they are often guilty of sexual offenses they would never commit as an adult.
Again, that is why we treat underage offenders in a different manner than those people who are adults.
Anything more to come is simply unreliable. It is all now tainted with sensationalism.

My family had 5 kids, my wife’s had 6 kids. One SIL had 8 kids. Not unusual for the times.
But 18 kids is freaky, no doubt about that. They do it for the sake of the novelty and attention.
He is also a convicted PEDOPHILE serving a fifty year sentence in state prison for child pornography who SAYS he was lied to. I am certain he is telling the absolute truth. /s/
You don’t get a fifty year sentence for Child Pornography for a couple pictures of kids in bathing suites. His testimony would never see the inside of a court. His statement to USA Today is hardly reliable.
We are ALL Liars! We are ALL sinners! As parents the Duggars did what they saw as right.
Based on the reaction of even those who claim that they believe in Grace and forgiveness, they would have been better off to have said nothing. They acted as responsibly as one could expect.
When they became aware of the situation they confided in a family friend who was member of law enforcement. They took his advise and either acted on it or not. At some point they even voluntarily talked to the police, even making a statement and filing a report.
What exactly would you have done if your son and daughters where involved? I suppose you would have picked up the phone and had the police arrest and jail your 12, 13, or 15 year old son? I suppose you would have called the local news media to witness the perp walk?
I highly doubt that would have been the best remedy for ANYONE involved, including the girls.
Based on the feeding frenzy and reactions of people, even on this board, it would have been better had they simply sought treatment with private psychiatrists for all involved and NEVER have involved the authorities.
What is happening to this family over this will certainly not make others more likely to report this type of incident. It will make it highly likely that people will not report it.
What most people, even here, are shoveling is a load of sanctimonious horse shi+ at best!
According to a disgraced state trooper serving a fifty year sentence for child porn they lied. So no they probably didn’t lie.
They filed forms to have the records destroyed. They where already sealed and already where supposed to be destroyed, BY LAW!
Yes, acting to protect your family is normal behavior. Even to the point of not wanting your minor child’s transgressions, sexual or otherwise, being fodder for the press.

Then you should also be aware of how anti porn I am. When I push the anti porn (related to the anti abortion message mind you) one women I tend to quote a lot is Dr. Judith Reisman. That is the person who debunked the works of Dr Kinsey. Well have you ever wondered why Dr. Reisman suddenly quit her job writing songs for Captain Kangaroo (yes really!) and went on this rant about Kinsey? If you read her books you’d know. It all happened when her 8 year old daughter was molested by a 13 year old neighbor. Turns out this 13 year old boy had done this before and was currently in “treatment” for the other children he molested. Now think what year that was, Captain Kangaroo was still on the air! The boy had become unnaturally sexually active after finding some porn and was acting out the sex acts he saw on other children. Problem is, even under a treatment program he was still offending when he attacked Dr. Reisman’s daughter.
It is important to under stand how dangerous sex offender are at any age. Yes the boy who hurt Dr Reisman’s daughter was only 13 but he should have been put in an institution UNTIL deemed safe to be around other children. Just like Josh.
Now I ask you with this information would you want your daughter around a boy like that or a boy like Josh? Would you be fine with it? “Sure little Sally go play over at the Duggars, I okay with that”. No I would not be. I would not want my daughter over at the Duggars if I knew what Josh did. I would not feel that my daughter is safe!!! That is why I feel he should be on a sex offender registry.
