I can’t follow leftist sexual politics. Its more complicated than Game of Thrones.
So mattress girl’s accused rapist is actually now a bisexual, equal-opportunity race rapist?
My only question - does anyone actually study at Columbia?
Is Marcus carrying around a mattress too?
.
That was an entertaining dialectic.

Just think. These are the people that will be given jobs in the federal government as regulatory bureaucrats. Hoorah.

For my Visual Arts Senior Thesis I will use a meditative dance practice that harnesses kinetic energy within my body as an embodied metaphor for the evasion of structural and interpersonal violence, and as an incipient expression of black, trans/feminine and queer identity and resistance. As a literal expression of my right to both occupy and negotiate discursive and physical space both on campus and in the United States more broadly, the dance will center black, trans-feminine and queer experience within the national discourse surrounding sexual violence and racist brutality, and challenge the audience to redefine our collective understanding of anti-blackness and trans/femininitys integral relationship to rape and mass incarceration.
I have tattooed a Black X over my left breast, which symbolizes the permanent mark left on my body after this assault and as a symbolic metaphor for the ways in which my identity is targeted by sexual predators and white supremacist institutions. Drawing from the current uprisings in Baltimore, Ferguson, and across the U.S to confront racist police violence, the work of Columbia Prison Divests organizing to end Columbias economic investment in the CCA and G4S, and radical black and brown trans/femmes across the globe, I am using dance as an individual form of protest that leverages my identity, body and experiences against those who wish to exploit and violate them: racist, colonizing institutions like Columbia, the Prison Industrial Complex in which its been invested, and serial rapists like Paul Nungesser.
For Black X: Negratude, I am going to dance my way to liberation. I am protesting the universitys refusal to protect black students, queer students, trans students, women and femmes from white supremacist capitalist patriarchy and sexual violence. I am going to dance, in videos and on stages, until I receive my diploma next May. I am carrying the torch: Emma carried her mattress across the stage at Commencement, and I will dance across the stage at mine. The Black X on my chest is the targetthe challengeto all of the mens rights activists, racist liberals, pithy misogynists, transphobes and spineless bureaucrats, anyone who believes I am a lying nigger piece of shit, to not threaten or silence me, to not call me crazy, but to shoot me like the cowards you are if you do not believe in my right to live, learn, heal, and exist. It is not only within Columbias, but our collective hands to decide when the violence will end. For now, I will dance. I will protest. I will fight. And I WILL win. My name is Marc Jeremy, Im a black trans/femme, and this is Negratude.

To be fair, Columbia is capitalism at its finest. People are free to pay ridiculous amounts of money to a snake oil company. If both parties are happy, then what’s the problem?
