“we live here in this world judged by law.. man’s law... Go peddle your theocracy down the road.”
As much as you wish it, I’m not planning on going anywhere else. And you are confused. There is rule by law and rule by man. If it is rule by man’s law, then you may not realize what you advocating, but it is tyrannical rule by man. The moral authority of any legal system is derived from God’s moral laws revealed in nature and revealed in the Bible. Our nation was founded on adherence to natural law and recognized that marriage and the family are a pillar of civilization. Our legal system was designed to allow people of faith to form communities around commonly shared beliefs while uniting a nation around views commonly shared by all of the various religious groups — views like freedom from religious oppression by the government, and having a strong national security. Without God’s moral law you have either tyrants imposing their own morality or you have mob rule.
You can call advocating the morality of the Bible a “theocracy” by way of insult if you want, but there was a day when the rule by man you advocate would have landed you in severe legal consequences for what you admitted you have done. The same rule by man you are advocating is currently, today, in the nation we live in, trying to make sex acts far more destructive and deviant than what happened in this matter to be legal, accepted, and promoted by the education system and media. These are the people you are siding with against a family that is a model of conservatism and faith. When what this boy becomes legal, acceptable, and even promoted by our government, what law do you plan to appeal to then? And what “consequences” will you advocate then?
And why do you dislike this family? You have described it already in your contempt for people who supposedly peddle their morality. Are you only offended at a boy molesting his sisters? Or are you also offended they advocate sex only after marriage? Seems like this moral standard offends you like it does the left.
“adults with girlfriends don’t [have consequences].”
According to God they do:
Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
I can tell you why I personally don’t much like the Duggars. It’s because they’re not the mainstream Christians they’re made out to be-—they’re cultists.
Christians aren’t brainwashed into wearing their hair a certain way. They don’t force their daughters to wear skirts when they ride a bike because putting on a pair of jeans is evil.
The family has always given off a creepy vibe to me, including Michelle with her saucer eyes and her baby voice.
You know, it’s interesting to read the counseling material given to sex abusers by the Gothard cult. It centers mostly around the so-called responsibility of the abused in causing the abuse to happen....for example, not dressing modestly enough and causing the male to be tempted.
Also listed as a “temptation” for males is changing a female infant’s diaper. Now digest that for a second. Does it sound like Christianity to you, or Islam?
I’d love to know what responsibility the five-year old had to cop to, when Josh felt her up underneath her skirt while he was reading her a book.
