I thoroughly agree. The current Sunday night series by Roma Downey is, in my opinion, unbiblical and unwatchable. They had Thomas say, "My Lord!" Period. Not "My Lord and My God!" They lost me right there, although their poorly-focused scripting had already finished it for me. It's as though their project was for Jesus but not by Jesus.
There was a decent exploration 20+ years ago of Peter and Paul, by that name I believe, starring Foxworthy and Hopkins, but otherwise it's pretty barren. Hollywood's studios have long been run mainly by Jews, which explains a lot.
Sadly, Pilgrim's Progress has never been done well, which is ironic given its status as the greatly-loved all-time bestseller aside from the Bible itself. (I've always thought McCartney's The Long and Winding Road would be perfect during the credits at the end.) A good effort could reawaken interest in a classic's classic that is rapidly fading from awareness. Which reminds me: I re-read it every couple or three years, and I think it's high time again! Now, if I could just see it on the big-screen....
