My parents used a belt. It gets a bad rap but kids with that possibility hanging over them are far more likely to do as they are told. It’s not just a power trip. Kids NEED to do what they are told for their own good.
“This is going to hurt me a lot more than it hurts you.”
“I’m going to apply the board of education to the seat of learning.”
I’m sure there are more of those little sayings but that’s all I remember right now.
