Kinda hard to survive in a society that worships independence if you’re weakened by disease.
I saw the earlier thread on this, it was the feel-ggod moment of the day.

What the man needs is a social worker to follow up on his situation. My guess is that he’s eligible for about $200 a month in food stamp benefits - temporarily cut off during his hospital stay.
