Let's see how that eternity thingy works out for them.
Aren't they?
Right... and silence about the religion that actually, explicitly approves of domestic violence in its holiest book.
No agenda there...
The most intelligent approach to revisionism is to first learn something about the group you’re going to villify. Christianity is far more feminist than either ancient or modern paganism.
As opposed to other religions on this planet which mutilate their genitals, or burn them alive.
Well, to anyone familiar with the Pulitzer family’s newspaper (St. Louis Post Dispatch, er, Disgrace) this is no surprise. It’s been a communist rag for the better part of a century.
They should probably get a Nobel Peace Prize too.
the sanctity of marriage
THAT PESKY SANCTITY thing again....
the poo litzer prize people clearly don’t even know that the term means.
Id bet if they were victims of a home invasion theyd rethink the concept
No. Christianity tells spouses to cherish and reverence each other (Ephesians 5).
Secular pop psychology is more at fault for domestic violence than Christianity ever could be. It, in general, tells each spouse to validate SELF, and assert SELF — SELF esteem, SELF help, SELF worth, SELF aggrandizement, SELF ad-nauseam. When couples seek individuality more than togetherness, they inevitably grow apart. When they grow apart, they become rivals and adversaries, rather than a team.
The disintegration of the family is a cerfifiable sign of the times we’re in.
Besides that, SELFishness is simply the generic expression of original sin — which is entirely based on envy and pride.
(The Gospel according to Roger Miller):
“It is my belief
Pride is the chief
Cause of the decline
In the number of
Husbands and wives.”
They just won’t leave well enough alone.
When all else fails.......
We have a huge stack of Post and Courier copies. You’d be amazed what we’ve saved on bathroom tissue.
I am unable to find any Domestic Violence stats that break down intimate partners to married or cohabiting couples. I’ve not read the article so does it mention how they determined that marriage as the union of one and one woman for life sanctified by God is the cause of domestic violence when domestic violence goes across all examples of intimate relationships, even same sex couples?
They know little if anything about the Bible, and obviously they have not read it. The Lord, God in the Second Book called Exodus gave Moses a long list of His laws that dealt with how we are to treat others to include women and others in the family. Proverbs 31 contains The Description of a
Worthy Woman. The Lord Jesus clearly stated how we are to treat others.
What about domestic violence in societies untouched by ‘evils’ of Christianity?
Meanwhile, the beheadings and female circumcisions continue in the Middle East by the followers of the Religion of Perpetual Outrage....
I wonder if the Pulitzer Prize Board took a look at rap culture, with its “Shut up b*tch, suck my d*ck” mentality? “Oh, but that’s just MUSIC!”
The Pulitzer ceased to be relevant in any way for me since the pro-sodomy movement has taken over pretty much ALL of the communications, press, news, higher education and government at all levels, domestically and international.
My usual reaction is to avoid it altogether, and when I can't, just to say "So what??
The closest the series comes to blaming religion for anything is in a section that discusses why women stay in abusive marriages. There, the article notes that, for many women, the religious vows they took upon getting married make it difficult to envision leaving their marriage, even an abusive one, but that is just one small bit in a very long (and, quite good) series of articles.
