Man found guilty of throwing 4-year-old daughter off cliff in 2000

Brown's first trial ended in 2006, with two jurors voting to convict him of first-degree murder, eight voting for second-degree murder and two favoring manslaughter. In 2009, a jury split evenly between second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.

Apodaca, the third jury’s foreman, said it took one day of deliberations for the entire jury to agree. A key to the case, he said, was an expert witness who said the girl's injuries were inconsistent with a slip or trip and instead suggested that she was thrown.

4 years that is 48 months, 3 months per trimester = 16 trimesters, + 3 trimesters before she was born = 19 trimesters...

I am surprised some lib hasn’t claimed this was just a 19th trimester abortion....

Might make inroads into California's deficit by raffling chances to be alone in a locked room with this father.

“A key to the case, he said, was an expert witness”

“Laub told jurors that evidence in the case did not prove Brown set out to kill his child, but instead painted him as a lousy father and unlikable person. The prosecution of Brown, who was arrested in 2003, was propelled by an emotional reaction to the death of a young child, he said.”

That’s it, that’s all it takes. Just personal opinion,
impression and a possibly trumped up motive is all it takes to get a first degree murder conviction. They had more
evidence with OJ.

No evidence, witnesses or confession just the jury’s emotions.
The guy probably did it but it could have been an
accident as well. No one really knows but him, that’s it.
Honestly either there is more evidence or they were driven
to convict someone no matter what.

Set all the emotions aside and there is very little to
go on. He should get an appeal. This just don’t sound right.

Libs can’t do that kind of math. They’d say it was just a post-term abortion.

New Rome doesn’t want proof but desires the Spectacle instead. If a man might be innocent and grieving the death of his child, New Rome wants him tortured and mutilated in prison. New Rome would prefer to have it all televised, though, to instill its cruel nature into its fatherless children earlier in their lives.

Have fun. Enjoy the curse.

Yep - frightening that such testimony could result in a guilty verdict - the system requires proof beyond reasonable doubt and is supposed to be based on the premise that it’s better to let 100 guilty off the hook than to convict one innocent. How things have changed ....
