Word For The Day, Tuesday May 12, 2015
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

Thank you-I was not familiar with the constant praying, either. There is a psychotherapist I know who promotes constant prayer-like saying the rosary-as part of therapy, but that is the only time I heard that.
The Jesus prayer is often said on Rosary beads. I had a bracelet for that purpose once, but I lost it. To pray unceasingly is to be aware of the Holy Spirit within you at all times.
Are you familiar with the Nigerian Bishop who had a recent vision of Jesus. Jesus handed him a sword and when he took it it turned into a Rosary. He said it would defeat the boko harem.
Whoa! That is cool!
Excelllent observation. BTW, the pictures of your family wedding are beautiful, and your dress is splendiferous!
Thanks. I am still revelling in the aftermath.
We had friends come out to the wedding and the wife stopped down to the room shortly before we left in the exact same dress in a different shade of blue. She took one look at my dress and went back to her room to change. Lucky she had another dress with her.
Is the young couple going to live in Santa Cruz? If so, may I warn your fair skinned daughter about the brutal sun on the beach there? Brutal. I’ve lost 2 cousins to melanoma as a result. One was a natural blonde and one was a natural redhead. Lest you think it was familial — they were from 2 sides of my family.
For some reason that my family has never figured out, the sun at Santa Cruz seems to be magnified. It burns faster and deeper than in any other part of the country. Perhaps it’s the breeze that’s constantly blowing and it’s easy to forget how long you’ve been out because you never really get hot.
My daughter and I showed up at my son’s wedding with the same dress for one of the pre-wedding parties. She had travelled from Washington State, and I had come from Wisconsin. The wedding was in Tennessee. LOL. We just switched things around.
The wedding was in Santa Cruz, but they live in San Jose. She no longer tans. She was happy to have no tan lines to worry about on her wedding day. Her husband tans up from any exposure. I expect after their honeymoon he will be darker.
I hope pics turn up of the Rehearsal Dinner. That dress was gorgeous.
San Jose is not so bad. I don’t know what it is about the SC sun — reflection off the water, perhaps? I still think that it is the breeze. I’ve had a couple of sunburns in SC that I still remember, and it’s been 50 years.
Was that the big rollercoaster that I saw in the background of one of your pictures? I hope it is a new one. The one I remember was wood, and I vaguely remember that it burned about 25 years ago. Scary and fun.
Both the mother of the groom and their eldest daughter bought the same dress. They discovered it in time.
Disgusting. I have one question for them. Whatever happened to Acid Rain? Remember when that was the constant scare tactic? When was the last time you heard anyone commplain about acid rain?
Constant prayer? Yeah, I get that. I'm not hidebound you know. I could probably spin around inside my hide if I could spin fast enough.
Anyway, back to constant prayer; I got it covered.
Good posts by t5 on the thread!
Sounds like a Left Behind kind of thing. God knows. Man is left to wonder, and wander.
