why shouldn't defensive backs or d-linemen have a say in inflation? How come the offense gets to determine it?

Because the ball belongs to the offense.........In football, it's up to the defense to get that ball back regardless of what its pressure might be..........LOL!

So a running team could deflate it more to eliminate fumbles? I’m more convinced that there should be a standard psi range.
