“Two years ago, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the nations top military officer, laid down an edict on the Obama administrations plan to open direct land combat jobs to women: If women cannot meet a standard, senior commanders better have a good reason why it should not be lowered.
Today, the Dempsey rule appears to have its first test case.
The Marine Corps just finished research to see if female officers could successfully complete its rigorous Infantry Officer Course.”

The solution is quite clear. Eliminate the rope climb and substitute with an event that everyone gets into a circle and discuss how they feelings are going to be damaged if they don’t get allow to be in the Infantry. Everyone will gives hugs and it will all be OK.
Alternatively, if it has to be a physical task. The boys will be required to climb the rope. The girls will slide down. See, that was easy. Group hugs.
The Corps does not like to lower standards. The Marines are the only service that does not train men and women together in boot camp.
