I haven’t watched much of it since the 90’s. I have a question for Simpson Fans though... they clearly established that Homer was a teenager in the 1970’s and got married in the early to mid 80’s.

Now that it’s gone on so long, do they say he was a teen in the 90’s, or are they still having the 1970’s as the days he was a teen?

They updated it to Homer marrying Marge in the 90’s, while he was in a grunge band.

If you're wondering how he eats and drinks and other science facts, then you should say to yourself, "it's just a show", and you should pretty much just relax.

The characters don't age, so their past is part of a floating timeline. The creators are aware of the mess the show's longevity makes of continuity. They just don't care, do whatever they want, and occasionally make jokes about it.
