Just had another earthquake here in Dallas.
Short, about a 3.5.
Weird.

Balcones-Ouachita Fault, more likely. Probably, it was just on the north side of Love Field airport.
Listed as a 2.8 but felt like the 3.2 yesterday.
The new normal I suppose.

What’s the average depth of wells in the area? This quake was appx 3 miles. That’s coming up on 16,000 ft.

Interesting map. I guess there are fault lines everywhere, we just don't hear about them unless it is a big one. I spent nearly six years working in downtown Tokyo. Earthquakes in the 3-4 range were at least a monthly occurrence. In fact, we worried when we didn't have them.
We felt the Virginia quake that took a few tiles off the Washington monument a few years ago. Less intensity than the common tremors in Tokyo. But we worried more because these type of things are rare in the Pittsburgh area.
