Hounsell told the Examiner that the police report did not accurately reflect his statements, and that his talk of drinking and messaging female friends referred to years earlier when he was still single. Hounsell further said that the only conversations he had with Doe were strictly professional, done over his work email address and only pertained to a few questions she had about charter schools and government.

The part about "marital difficulties" was the cop's statement, which Hounsell disputes and which no evidence exists for any Facebook messaging during the time the girl is accusing him.

I guess the bottom line is that men, married men especially, should be very wary of contact with women over the internet. I don’t know how practical it is, but he may have been spared this ordeal if her only allegations were tickling on the bus, bc there would be eye witnesses who could corroborate his story. Otherwise, you have to take on faith, that anyone you are dealing with is sane and not out to screw you.
