Via FOX NEWS:
The Treasurys Inspector General for Tax Administration notified the Senate Finance Committee Tuesday that they have recovered thousands of Lois Lerner emails that were not previously produced to Congress, committee members told Fox News.
The inspector general recovered approximately 6,400 Lerner emails and will carefully examine them as part of the committees bipartisan IRS investigation.
The Hill reported that around 650 emails were from 2010 and 2011, while most of them were from 2012. The inspector general has found about 35,000 emails in all as it sought to recover emails from backup tapes.
The IRS, in a statement to the newspaper, said that it was pleased to hear the Treasurys inspector general found the emails saying it was an encouraging development that will help resolve remaining questions and dispel uncertainty surrounding the emails.
The IRS also said it took the inspector general around 10 m onths to come up with the emails sent or received during the period affected by Lerners computer crash.
The agency said last year that Lerners computer crashed in 2011 and her emails were lost.
Lerner has been the focus of an investigation into the agencys targeting of the Tea Party and other nonprofit groups with conservative-sounding names that applied for tax-exempt status. Lerner was placed on leave in May 2013 and retired four months later. I have not done anything wrong, Lerner said to Congress in 2013. I have not broken any laws. I have not violated any IRS rules or regulations. And I have not provided false information to this or any other congressional committee.
The IRS scandal broke in May 2013 when Lerner said at an American Bar Association gathering and during a follow-up conference call with reporters there was a very quick uptick in nonprofit applications and that the vetting process was limited to the agencys Cincinnati office. The extent to which the Obama administration knew about the targeting, beyond Lerners unit in Washington, remains unclear in part because, she says, her computer crashed and emails were lost.
Lerner attorney William Taylor recently said he and his client were gratified but not surprised by a decision by the U.S. Attorneys Office not to pursue contempt of court charges against her earlier this month after she refused to testify about her role at the IRS in the targeting of conservative groups. Regarding efforts in Congress to punish her for not testifying, he said: It is unfortunate that the majority party in the House put politics before a citizens constitutional rights.

Ping.
Yeah, and LL is laughing her head off...after taking the 5th in front of a Congressional investigation. Obama is laughing too....nothing will be done.
This is an IRS (and possibly higher up) crime the Uniparty wants to be forgotten.
The new AG will get right on it.
Sounds like it.
“Nothing will be done” is only true until something actually is done.
One question I have not seen answered about Lois the Liar or the Hildebeasts emails is this:
When you ‘send’ an e-mail, there is always a recipient. So you can never ‘destroy’ an e-mail fully.
Why can they not subpoena the recipients e-mails (other then the fact the R’s are scared s-—less of the beast).
The GOPe hates the Tea Party worse than the rats do.
Of course we can’t expect either party to do the right thing.
ya gots to know who they were sent to and approximately when
“Why can they not subpoena the recipients e-mails (other then the fact the Rs are scared s-less of the beast).”
First one has to know the identity of all the people to whom she addressed and copies and blind copied emails. Of the people one’s common sense tells us must have been email correspondents, one would need a broad subpoena, ordered that all emails to and from Hillary and that person be produced.
Her inbox containing inbound email was probably the most damaging. The inbox contents might indicate direction was given to her to engage in political activity.
The outbound email could demonstrate the directions she was giving to others. It could also include reports to her superiors apprising them of her activitites.
But we all know the truth: The R's are not going to get serious about this because they are either cowards, or content with being in second place.
Or complicit as well. Would not surprisd me in the least to see any RINO’s name attached to Lerner’s emails.
Why does it seem that the only government offices interested in any accountability are the Inspector Generals office? If the IG could find these tapes why couldn’t the director? My answer, because he didn’t want to find them.
What record of incoming messages that were long since scrubbed would there be at this point? When overstuffed email accounts were getting crowded, agencies would automatically delete old emails after X amount of time. If there any proof that the computer(s)/devices she uses today are the same ones she used as Sec. of State? Highly doubtful. Would the international networks over which her messages travelled be able to track down messages, if they knew the IP address(s)? Unless recipients and senders of emails to Huma Abedin (probably highest Muslim Brotherhood operative in State Dept under Hillary), Bill, Hillary, and the other top aides to Hillary come forth and declare that they had conversations online, what other mechanism would there be to come up with that info? . I can only assume that her address books weres long since deleted/laundered.
And they’re still using the “my computer crashed which somehow lost my emails” excuse.
Technology has become magic.
