For years, I used to carry a pedometer because I like to ensure I walk at least 10,000 steps each day (by the way, walking 5 miles a day keeps me in perfect health). But those things were always crapping out and never all that accurate to begin with. For instance, they would count steps even if you were riding in a car because bumps would register as steps.

Then I got the "Pacer" app for my iPhone and it was way more accurate. And there was no pendulum mechanism to wear out because the iPhone app used the gyroscope in the iPhone and it's harder to register "fake" steps.

I'm thinking the pedometer app in the Apple Watch is going to be even more accurate. Plus it will be able to keep track of your pulse, temperature and other things like that.

This is the kind of stuff that makes your life better. And everyone is concerned about that and their health. That’s why Apple is getting into “health” in a big way!
