McDonalds is NOT a food company, it is a real estate company.
I used to have family connections in McDonalds Corporate and that's what they used to say, a real estate company with a system to extract revenue from that real estate. I'd also add that it's a supply and logistics company, and that end of the business is hard to turn on a dime.
There was a time when K-Mart stock was collapsing and selling below the value of its real estate holdings.
Then the price shot up to match the value.
A similar buying opportunity might come up with regard to McDonald's.
